Dear Sir,
With reference to the above, we are pleased to inform you that Bangladesh Garments Accessories & Packaging Manufacturers & Exporters Association (BGAPMEA) is going to be arranged Bangla Star-2016 Award Competition at the event of Garments Accessories & Packaging Exposition (GAPEXPO)-2016 to be held on 13-16 January, 2016 at International Convention Centre, Bashundhara, Baridhara, Dhaka.
BGAPMEA is the Executive member of Asian Packaging Federation (APF). The other member countries of APF are: India, China, Indonesia, Japan, Singapore, Korea, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam and Turkey. Every year APF organized an event namely 'Asia Star Award' for the excellence of packaging in the Asian Region which is treated as the packaging Oscar of Asia.
The Benefits of Asia Star winner is recognized regionally as 'the best of the best' in Asia.
· All Asia Star winners will receive a magnificent trophy and a packaging excellence certificate from APF.
· All Asia Star winner designers will also receive a packaging excellence certificate. This is to recognize that package production is not a solo effort.
· All Asia Star winners will have the right to prominently display the Asia Star logo to benefit their business.
· All Asia Star winners will be featured in an Asia Star Winners' Catalogue and receive 10 copies to distribute as part of a PR campaign. (Additional duplicate trophies & booklets can be ordered separately at a nominal charge.)

Student Category
|
this aims to encourage students to explore innovative ideas, packaging design, graphics and product.

Every year Shanto Marium University of Creative Technology, Dhaka, Bangladesh participated this APF event in the student category on behalf of BGAPMEA. This year 06 (six) students of Shanto Marium University of Creative Technology won Trophy with Certificates of APF Asia Star Award-2015 that was held on 24th November, 2015 at Istanbul, Turkey (pls browse our website at
BGAPMEA wants to participate in the next APF Asia Star Award competition covering the remaining categories. In this context, BGAPMEA is going to organize Bangla Star Award-2016 competition at the event of GAPEXPO-2016 for the selection of pre-qualifier of the next APF event . The winner of this event will be allowed to participate in the next APF Asia Star Award-2016 competition directly.
No package which has been entered for any previous Asia Star competition will be reconsidered. For intellectual property reasons, each entry must NOT carry any commercial trademark on the package, unless it is accompanied by a letter of authorization from the brand or trademark owner.
A statement will have to be submited in English describing your package in the following topics;
a) Description: (Limit 50 Words) Briefly describe application / function of package
b) Material: (Limit 30 Words) Provide information of material used for the package
c) Size: (Limit 30 Words) Provide size dimension of the package
d) Extra information such as design Inspiration (Limit 60 Words): concept of the package, inspiration of package, etc.
e) Pictures: Entry should be accompanied by digital images (maximum of 6 images) in .jpg format (300 dpi/pixel) showing a good representation of the packages, features and marked with name, package and company. (No PowerPoint pictures)
It would be highly appreciated, if you kindly send the sample of package (in the category of Consumer/Transportation/ECO package) along with the Filled up Entry Form & description of the product (as mentioned above) to participate the Bangla Star Award-2016 competition as soon as possible to BGAPMEA Secretariat (Sonartori Tower, 9th floor, 12, Sonargaon Link Road, Banglamotor, Dhaka-1000). We are sending herewith the Entry Form of Bangla Star-2016 for your kind perusal & further necessary action.
Entry Form along with the related information will be submitted to BGAPMEA on or before 31st December, 2015.
